Welcome to the Blank family travel blog, Bon Voyage Y’all! If you read our About page you already know that we are a family of 3 from Texas that loves to travel and you'll have learned what Bula means. This blog is where we hope to share our adventures and inspire you to get out there to experience all this amazing world has to offer!

I grew up in a family that took road trips every summer, mainly to wherever the state or national women’s bowling tournaments were being held. My mom and grandmother were both big bowlers, so each year we’d form our family vacation around the tournaments. We traveled all over the country and my dad drove every mile. He loved it! I have so many memories of riding in the back of the minivan with him pointing out the sites making sure we didn’t miss anything along the way. Lots of nights spent in motels and lunches at roadside parks. Incredible times spent with my family, memories made, and card games played.

And the tradition continues! Now it’s my mom and I who are the big bowlers and we still plan our summer vacations around the annual tournaments.
My husband, Ryan, didn’t get to travel much until his junior year of high school when he became a foreign exchange student in Austria. Before returning home, he took several months to backpack around Europe and Great Britian. Staying in youth hostels and soaking up adventures with other students. It definitely molded him into the man he is today.
And for us, that’s what travel does. It changes you. It changes your outlook of the world around you. It forces you to break your comfort bubble of home. You meet new people, you experience the cultures of other places, and sometimes you learn to appreciate all you have been blessed with in this life.

Ryan and I are so grateful for the opportunity to show the world to our son, Pickle. (Check out the About page.) We both believe that travel is the best possible education we can give him. It teaches him empathy, acceptance, tolerance, patience, confidence, history, geography, budgeting, languages, cultures and so much more!
My sincere hope is that you find inspiration for your next adventure within these blog posts. That you find places you may not have ever heard of or thought to visit. That you see the world through our eyes and realize it’s an incredible place filled with beautiful people and gorgeous landscapes.
Cheers,
Lisa
